Pilot Custom 912 Waverly

Brian gives us a look at the Pilot Custom 912 Waverly fountain pen, new to the US line up in the summer of 2016!

The Pilot Custom 912 fountain pen has an elegant, classy design, and the Waverly nib is very enjoyable to use! This is a full size, polished black resin pen with rhodium trim. You have likely seen this model before as it is available with several other nib options. This particular pen features a Pilot #10 Waverly nib – it is a 14-karat gold nib with rhodium-plating. The nib matches the trim perfectly, and it is a unique nib at that.

What’s so special about the Waverly nib? Take a look at the tip of the nib – it turns up slightly if you look at it from the side. It’s a firm nib that offers no line variation from softness and spring. However, you can vary your angle (similar to a Sailor Zoom nib), to achieve a finer to broader line. Either way, it is designed to be a very smooth writer.
