The Montblanc Daniel Defoe is the 2014 Writers Edition pen of the year. Available in Fountain, Rollerball, or Ballpoint pen and in Fine or Medium nib sizes.
The shape of this limited edition is inspired by Robinson Crusoe’s paddle. The precious resin is inspired by the color and structure of wood. Lighter brown can be seen through the rest of the dark brown color.

Fine engravings typical of 18th century ornaments that decorated book covers of the time adorn the cap ring, piston knob, and cone. The fountain pen cap is not postable, however, the length of the pen seems to be sufficient enough that one could use without. The pen fills via piston mechanism as is typical of most Montblanc writing instruments.

The clip is in the shape of a feather reminiscent of Crusoe’s parrot Poll, who is also found engraved on the ruthenium coated 18kt gold nib.

Daniel Defoe’s signature is engraved in the cap and the ballpoint pen is twist actuated with the cap to reveal the ballpoint.
