Diamine Presidential Blue
Monday we celebrated Presidents Day, so today
we take a look what the British deem a Presidential color.
Diamine is always a safe bet when it comes to fountain pen ink. They have a huge assortment of colors at a great price – an a 80ml bottle is $15. Presidential Blue is a nice soft blue that is perfect for signing all your important documents. This review was done with a Franklin-Christoph Model 03 EF, Lamy Studio B, and on Rhodia No. 18 blank paper.
Presidential Blue is a no frills blue ink that shades from a light cerulean to a rich navy. Like most Diamine inks it has excellent properties: good flow, low feathering and bleedthrough, and was easy to clean up. It had moderate saturation and shading, and normal dry times at 15-30 seconds. The water resistance is on the low side, but it was still possible to make out words after the water test.
Take Diamine Presidential Blue for a spin on the Ink Tool where you can compare it side-by-side to hundreds of other inks.
If you’re looking for any every day blue ink, then Presidential Blue has everything you need. While you might not be signing any executive orders, it will still give your writing an air of sophistication.
As with any ink review, the pen, paper, and person doing the writing will influence the way the ink looks. If you’re not sure about a color, try a sample to see if it’s the one for you.
Ink it Up!
