The Sailor Pro Gear Regency Stripe: let’s take a look at this beauty!
Sailor Pro Gear Regency Stripe
The Sailor Pro Gear Regency Stripe fountain pen comes in a pretty, simple box, with two cartridges and a converter (not inside the pen, but separate in the box).
This is a beautiful pen with a black resin cap and end, with a rhodium-plated stripe and barleycorn pattern overlay on the barrel. This overlay makes the pen eye-catching, but not over the top. This is a full-sized Professional Gear pen. The rhodium-plated nib is 21KT gold, which matches the trim and barrel. The nibs are available in medium and broad, and this pen has a broad. It’s a firm nib – no flex, even though it’s a gold nib! – but is very smooth. Sailor nibs are quite pleasant to use.
Although some may be hesitant to post the cap because of the overlay, it was well-designed to accommodate posting. In hand, it is quite comfortable.
These pens were discontinued in Japan due to the weight added by the overlay. Sailor pens tend to be on the lighter side in general, and this was an exception.
