Let’s take a look at the Lamy Safari NOS Savannah Green and Terracotta Orange pens!
Lamy Safari NOS
The Savannah Green was the very first Lamy Safari ever released, in 1980. The packaging has changed significantly, and although the pen has remained the same, this color, along with the Terracotta Orange, is very hard to find.
The nib on the fountain pen is also different from the modern Lamy nib – same ship and appearance, but there are no markings on it.
In 1980, the Savannah Green was available in four writing instruments: fountain pen, rollerball, ballpoint, and mechanical pencil. Note the pens are marked W. Germany!
Unfortunately, the plastic wasn’t designed to last forever and be opened and closed repeatedly. The boxes must be treated with care.
This is a rare opportunity to get own one (or both) of these colors – grab one while you can! You can find the Savannah Green Ballpoint, Mechanical Pencil, and two Rollerballs here and here. The Terracotta Orange Rollerball can be found here.
Ink it up!
