Platinum Classic Maki e
The Platinum Classic Collection Maki e fountain pen collection is available in five nature-inspired, attractive finishes.
These are created with the Kanazawa technique, using a Kanazawa Leaf. Each pen features an 18k gold nib that is firm, resilient, and incredibly smooth on the page. Maki-e is a Japanese art that utilizes urushi lacquer to decorate and finish the pen body, and comes from the Japanese Maku meaning to sprinkle, and E meaning to paint. The art of Kanazawa Decorative Leafing is passed down through generations and takes many years of training to perfect this delicate art. The master craftsmen of Kanazawa produce some of the finest gold leaf, in shimmering colors and amazing detail.
Each pen features an 18kt gold nib that is firm, resilient, and incredibly smooth on the page. Attention to detail shines through in the cut of the nib, to find the perfect balance between smoothness, softness, and resilience. The pens feel solid and robust in hand and posts well.
These use Platinum-proprietary cartridges or converters to fill with. The nib sizes available are Fine or Medium, and they run a bit on the finer side.
