Ok, I know, I know, we just got back home from Dallas two days ago, surely I should be satiated with fine pens by now right? Right?? Well, some of us wouldn’t call it an obsession if we didn’t constantly pursue something for the pen chest. Since I was able to knock a couple items off the list last weekend, looks like I need to refine it a bit and write up a new one. A man’s got to have a goal!
1) Since I discovered the Davis Bros pen I have was really a Betzler & Wilson, I suppose I have to put the nib back in this pen and this leaves me in a position needing another B&W nib. I highly doubt I’ll find one in Detroit, but I’ll start looking now.
2) I did not find the Aikin Lamber safety either, but will continue to hunt for one. Any chance to find one in Detroit? Well, it is a bit closer to New York, so who knows!
3) Taper cap eyedroppers and/or pens with overfeeds. I saw a really nice one in Dallas, but did not buy it. I should have. Oh well. I’ll see that dealer hopefully in Columbus in a few months, perhaps he’ll have it still. In the meantime, I’d like to add one to the collection. I’m sure I could find one in Michigan.
4) Something mottled. I have a lot of black hard rubber, and since we’re moving into the fall season up here in Wisconsin, it might be nice to add a little color to my pen trays. No particular brand here, just something in nice condition and with nice mottling.
I’ll keep it simple since this is a smaller show, but surely will be able to find something from this list. How about you? What will you be looking for at the show?
