Well, the time has come, it is upon us, The L.A. Pen Show will soon be starting and that means I have to have a plan of attack for shopping the room. Yes folks, this can mean only one thing. The LA pen show wish list.
My needs are really simple, really, and I’m not quite sure what I’m looking for this time around. I’ll just drop a few things off the top of my head and see what happens:
1) Omas of some form. Maybe a 360? Maybe a Paragon? Maybe an Arte Italiano? I don’t know, all I know is I don’t have one and Lisa has the lock on Italian pens in this household. It doesn’t even have to be new, and frankly, I don’t need yet another box in my house.
2) Aurora Optima Nerla Perla – This is the pen Lisa calls “The Ugly One” I think it is beautiful and if she doesn’t want it I’ll be happy to save the world from yet one more ugly pen.
3) Montblanc 149 – Yes, I said it, I’ve been on this earth long enough without this iconic writing instrument, perhaps it is time to get one. If it isn’t feasible, I may take a 146 in its place.
4) Any BHR eyedropper with an overfeed. I love these types of pens, add a tapercap, make it a MHR pen and we might have a winner.
5) I won’t say it, but there has been a certain HR pen that has eluded me for the past year. Perhaps I will find it in LA?
Lisa has her own list, and is probably just as achievable as some of mine:
1) Aurora Sole – The Sun. A Yellow colored pen you have to see in person to really get a grasp of.
2) Auora Primavera – A bright Green pen, and I do mean bright, but as beautiful as all the other Aurora marbled pens.
Both of these pens will complete her collection of Aurora Optima colored pens, adding to the Mare and the 75th Anniversary pen. No original box needed, so this might help on the price. What a collection the four of those pens would look like!
Well, departure time nears, let’s get on the road!
See you in LA!
