Well, we leave tomorrow afternoon for one of the friendliest shows of the summer, the 10th Annual Triangle Pen Show (often times just referred to just as the Raleigh Pen Show). Run by the most gracious host Terry Mawhorter and family, we can be assured it is going to be a great show filled with seminars, a vintage pen auction, and even a two hour happy hour at the hotel!
So, what are we looking for at the show?
Brian – Well, the usual fare. I know, you’re getting bored of me saying Wirt this, Aikin Lambert that, but hey, isn’t that what all this is about? I’m actually going to be looking for some parts, Waterman mostly, but rumor has it our good friend George Rimakis will be bringing some interesting pens for show and tell, including an Akin Lambert Safety I need to see. Can I wrestle it out from his grasp? We shall see, he always brings great stuff, so I am filling a case full of interesting pens for show and tell. I feel fairly good about my collection right now, so unless anything jumps out at me that I have to have, I may go home light this time around.
Lisa – Lisa has really gotten to looking at those sexy slim S.T. Duponts lately. If we can find one more she officially has a collection of them. Maybe a couple of Kaweco sports, or harder to find Lamy Safari’s? If we can find a Sole or Primavera at the right price, we may snatch it up.
So that’s it for us, how about you? What are you looking for in Raleigh?
