My Favorite Pens – The Omas Revelations Limited Edition

Today we start a new series entitled “My Favorite Pens”. These are pens that Lisa or I really like and that are on our “favorites” list. These may be pens that are constantly inked, pens hold some sentimental value to us, or are just a combination of beautiful and good writers. My choice for today’s first episode is the Omas Revelations Limited Edition.

What attracted me first to this pen was the blue marbling of the pen and it’s round, non-faceted barrel. It has a very stylish, classic clip with a roller end to it to assist in getting the pen into and out of a pocket. It is of course, a piston filler and has a Broad 18kt single tone nib that writes wonderfully. It’s not an every day type of pen due to its very broad nib, as it is about the equivalent of a 1.1 mm width, but it makes for a gret pen to cross items off lists and for making a very bold statement or a signature. It is a wet writer and has some softness as well, so can end up being even broader than a 1.1 when pressure is applied.

My pen is number 21 of only 88 pens, and I was fortunate (or unfortunate, depending on how you look at it) to get the very large original box, which comes with a bottle of ink. There’s not much else in the box, so I’m not sure why they felt the need to give it such a huge box, but it is what it is. In fact, I almost decided to NOT take the pen due to the size of the box. It IS that big.

The Omas Revelations was my very first Omas pen, and has proven to not be my last, as there have been several other that have followed (and that will likely show up in this blog). The combination of beautiful color, classic Italian styling, and a terrific writer make it one of my favorite pens.
