I love “what’s in your bag” type posts, but I’m not brave enough to show you my loaded (but organized!!) purse. I’m a mother, a wife, and a teacher, and I have a little bit of anything & everything someone could possibly need. In grad school, I was known for my “magical” backpack, which weighed 28.5 pounds. You name it, it was in there.
I will share my pen case, though, and show off my weekly carry. One of my personal self-challenges for 2013, is to use more of my pens. I am, after all, a collector and user first and foremost. I need to share the love, however, and break out some fountain pens that don’t get as much love and attention. So, my weekly carry challenge… I will try to share my weekly carry pens, and my goal is to change out at least 3 of the 6 each week.

So without further ado:
1. Edison/Anderson LE Bulbfiller in Ocean Flake. Does this need any explanation?? What a Gorgeous pen, with a capital G! Awesome writer too. Filled this week with J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir.
2. Vintage Pelikan 400NN. I love this pen. We won an Ebay auction, sold 1 pen, and kept the rest. This one I claimed, and I have never regretted it. An amazingly smooth writer, and it never ever gives me any trouble. Aurora Blue ink this week, but I do sometimes alternate & use Noodler’s Forest Green or my Akkerman Green.
3. Aurora Mare. The same size as my 75th Anniversary pen. What a truly lovely bright blue. This one has a fine nib, and is inked with J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir as well. One of my go-to pens every day.
4. Aurora 75th Anniversary pen. Brian surprised me with this for Christmas. I LOVE it. I had been drooling over this pen (no, I mean literally drooling on it) at shows for over a year. Brian worked out a deal with the seller, but part of the arrangement was that he had to videotape me opening it. The seller is a dear friend of ours, and we all had fun with this. This one has a medium nib, and is inked with Akkerman Green ink, another gift from Brian.
5 Let’s not forget my fairly new-to-me Pilot Stella 90s. The finish is raden-esque, and is very pretty and has great dimension. The Fine nib, as with many Japanese nibs, like in my Prera, is more like an extra fine. It is very very smooth, with wonderful flow, so that the Extra-Fine nib never feels dry or balky. I love the size – it’s smaller and fits in my hand well, but the weight of it still makes it feel substantial. What a lovely pen. Every time I use it, I’m tempted to bring out my Pilot Prera as well. Maybe next week……
6. TWSBI ballpoint. Yes, I went there. We have had the TWSBI pencils and ballpoints for about 2 months now. The pencils are fun, and are great working pencils. The eraser is miles long, proportionately lol, and they do what they are supposed to. The ballpoint I love, and I use it all the time. It’s a nice weight in my hand, and is reminiscent of the older Rotring pens and pencils. TWSBI knocked it out of the park with these. Everyone who has bought them has been happy with them, starting with me!!
