Pen Shows: Washington D.C. Wish List

With the Washington D.C. Pen Show just around the corner this week, it’s time to put our wish lists together to see what we can dig up at this fantastic show!

Brian’s List:

This is probably the easiest to generate as I am constantly scouting out pens to add to the collection. I have been fortunate to have crossed a few items off the long term list from Raleigh this year, but have since added a couple more:

1) Dip pen nibs by Aikin Lambert (#5 sized for a sterling holder), John Holland, and Leroy Fairchild. I have several of these beautiful holders needing nibs, time to make them whole!

2) Aikin Lambert Safety – preferably the full sized model, but the only ones I can seem to find are on eBay and are all ring top models. Aikin Lambert did make a full sized model, but I have never seen one. Overlay not necessary, but bonus points if it has one, and with my luck, the one I find will have a stunning overlay attached, driving the price way up. Maybe I’ll find one in a parts bin?

3) Any Wirt – Preferably a MHR model. I missed out on two nice ones in Raleigh, so want to make up for that shortcoming. Really not too picky here, so this is very achievable.

4) Some second tier eyedropper with overlay. Bonus points for straight cap models or overfeeds. I don’t care who made it as long as it is beautiful and well made. I should be able to find something, for how much is another matter.  🙂

Lisa’s List:

1) Any Skripsert she doesn’t already have, or better ones than she has now to upgrade. Which ones are these? No idea, she has almost all of them. I was shocked I found one she didn’t have this year in Chicago. Major points for me!

2) The multi faceted Pilot Vanishing point. Not the regular faceted ones, we have all of those, this is the rare (did I just use that word?) multi faceted version. We’ve only see one, did not buy it and it has been haunting us ever since. Will we find one? Who knows, but if there’s a better place to look other than Japan itself, I don’t know where it is.

3) The Aurora 75th Anniversary pen – No box necessary, doesn’t even have to be mint or uninked, in fact to keep costs down we hope it doesn’t have the box and is used gently. We should find this one there, in fact we know of at least one dealer who has it. Will we actually buy it, probably not, unless it’s a terrific show beyond our already wild expectations.

So, what are you looking for? Write them down below!

Cheers!
