The Conklin All American

Today we take a look at the Conklin All American Fountain Pen, Rollerball, and Ballpoint.

The Conklin All American comes in several colors and writing styles. The newest is the Old Glory Limited Edition. This is not a numbered edition, but is limited for a short time. The Old Glory comes in both Fountain Pen and Ballpoint. The original three colors were Yellowstone, Sunburst Orange, and Tortoiseshell.

This is a chunkier pen and is postable. The Rollerball has recently been discontinued in favor of the new Ballpoint, so supplies are limited on Rollerballs if you prefer a matching set. The All American features one of the nicest clips on the market, the spring clip, which allows you to grab the pen by the top of the clip and insert it in your pocket in a one handed motion. No two handed operation is necessary to get it in your pocket like some other brands.

Nibs are available in Fine, Medium and 1.1 Stub. The Fine and Medium nib are two tone nibs (black nibs are also an option) whereas the stub nib is single tone nib. Broad nibs were discontinued on all Conklin pens several years back due to lack of interest. Apparently more people were interested in Stubs than Broad.
