We’re singing the blues with Sailor Ink Studio 540!
Sailor Ink Studio 540 is an amazing azure blue that pops off the page. Ink Studio inks come in a 20ml glass rectangular bottle and include a handy sticker set that can be used to label your converter so you remember which ink is in it. This review was done with a Pilot Metropolitan F, Lamy Safari B and on Rhodia blank No.18 paper.
Sailor Ink Studio 540 comes very close to Diamine Misty Blue and is a perfect color match for the Sailor 1911 Large Fountain Pen in Stormy Sea. It has a very consistent look across both fine and broad nibs, with a bit of variation in a broad which gives extra texture to your writing.
Sailor inks always astound with their quality, and Sailor Ink Studio 540 keeps on trend! It has good flow, low feathering and bleedthrough, an average dry time of 10-20 seconds, and is moderately waterproof! The text is highly legible even after being soaked, leaving behind a dim blue circle and bright aqua outline which could make it an interesting tool for artists.
If you’re looking for an every day blue with a little more life than a standard blue-black, your search is at an end! Sailor combines quality and creativity to bring you the most fashionable inks around!
As with any ink review, the pen, paper, and person doing the writing will influence the way the ink looks. If you’re not sure about a color, try a sample to see if it’s the one for you.
Ink it Up!
