Sailor Ink Studio 773
Sailor Ink Studio 773 is an orange so vibrant it’ll make your jack-o-lantern jealous.
Sailor Ink Studio 773 is an eye-popping orange that writes as good as it looks. Of the 100 ink studio colors, the majority are on the cooler side, but 773 has us just as excited as any blue ink. Ink Studio comes in a 20ml glass rectangular bottle. Each bottle has stickers that can be used to label your converter. This review was done with a Sailor Pro Gear F, Aurora Ipsilon B and on Rhodia blank No.18 paper.
Ink Studio 773 is a highly saturated ink that had a similar appearance in both fine and broad nibs. With a broader nib, you get a little more shading, but not a lot. The lightest the inks gets is a carrot orange, but from there it goes straight to a vivid tangerine. On Rhodia paper the ink is matte in appearance, but on Tomoe it has an incredible gold sheen!
Sailor inks always perform well and 773 follows the trend. The ink had good flow with no feathering or bleedthrough on Rhodia paper. Dry times were good at 20-30 seconds. The ink didn’t produce a lot of shading but its gold sheen on the right papers is outstanding. The ink had no water resistance, but cleanup was easy.
While this isn’t a work ink, it’s certainly a fun ink. 773 is a vivid tangerine that it is easily legible and makes for unique journaling ink that’s not too bright on the eyes. Did I mention that gold sheen on Tomoe?
As with any ink review, the pen, paper, and person doing the writing will influence the way the ink looks. Due to their small bottle size and large number of colors Ink Studio inks will not be available as samples. If you would like to order a bottle, please call the store at 920-997-8220.
