The Monteverde Limonada

Today let’s take a look at the Monteverde Limonada!

The Limonada is new for 2015 after having come out earlier this spring. If the style of the pen looks familiar, your eyes are not deceiving you, it sure does look like the Lamy Safari, but this pen is quite different.

First off, the pen is much slimmer than the Lamy. It is more in line size wise with the Pilot Metropolitan than the Safari. This makes it a much easier pen to throw in your bag than other larger pens.

Coming in a Medium steel nib only option, the pen is a smooth writer and a good one to keep in your bag while not having to worry about a more expensive pen.

The Fountain pen uses an international cartridge or converter, and even the converter resembles the Lamy Z26 converter, but the pen will not accept Lamy cartridges. The Ballpoint uses Parker style ballpoint refills and operates via a twist mechanism.

The barrel and cap have a flat side to them making them easy to keep from rolling off a desk. The clip looks similar to the Lamy in that it is slightly up turned and open in the middle, ala “the paperclip”.

The cap is friction fit over a triangular section which guides your fingers to the proper grip, similar to the Safari and AL-Star.  The pen posts a bit long, but is comfortable to use unposted.

Available in Blue, Black, Red, Yellow, and Gold, in each of Fountain Pen, Rollerball, and Ballpoint, the Monteverde Limonada is an inexpensive pen you can enjoy every day without breaking the bank.
