You need to indi-GO get yourself this ink! It’s Diamine Indigo!
Diamine Indigo is a beautiful dark blue that is very comparable to Pelikan 4001 Blue-Black. At only $17 for 80ml, this ink is a steal! This review was done with a Pilot Metropolitan F, Lamy Safari B, and on Rhodia blank No. 18 paper.
This eye-catching color works wonders for the every day writer. It provides a moderate amount of shading best seen in a broad nib, while a fine nib is consistently at the darker end of its range.
Diamine inks impress me, from the quality of the ink itself to their wide range of colors! Diamine Indigo has good flow, low feathering and bleedthrough, and a decent amount of water resistance to the point where all the text is still at least partially readable. It has a quick dry time of 10 seconds in a fine nib, and a longer time of 30 seconds in a broad nib.
For any lover of dark blues and blue-blacks, this ink is sure to delight. The color makes it very practical for every day use, and the dry time in a finer nib is great for the writer on the go!
As with any ink review, the pen, paper, and person doing the writing will influence the way the ink looks. If you’re not sure about a color, try a sample to see if it’s the one for you.
Ink it Up!
